Our Client

Empire Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and steel fabrication company in Navan. Due to increased project demand, our client is seeking an experienced Steel Fabricator to join their growing workshop team.

The successful candidate will be involved in the fabrication and assembly of structural steelwork and bespoke metalwork projects for a diverse client base.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Fabricate structural steel components and assemblies from engineering drawings.
  • Measure, mark, cut, drill, and assemble steel sections to specification.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including saws, drills, grinders, and other workshop machinery.
  • Perform fitting and assembly work to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
  • Work closely with welders and production teams to achieve project deadlines.
  • Carry out quality inspections throughout the fabrication process.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a steel fabrication or engineering workshop
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret fabrication drawings.
  • Strong measuring and layout skills.
  • Experience using fabrication tools and machinery
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable

  • Experience fabricating structural steel.
  • Welding experience beneficial
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification
  • Knowledge of steel erection and site installation practices.

Package

  • Competitive hourly rate of €18.00 - €22.00 per hour.
  • Working Hours 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm Friday

Site & Project Management

  • Manage day-to-day operations across residential and commercial construction sites.
