Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out property inspections to assess retrofit works and verify that completed installations meet the required specifications and SEAI standards.
• Support the administration of retrofit projects, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Work closely with contractors, project teams, and external assessors to ensure projects progress efficiently and any issues are resolved promptly.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with homeowners by providing professional guidance and responding to technical queries where required.
• Attend site visits and project meetings, recording key actions and maintaining organised project records.
• Keep project management systems up to date with site photographs, inspection notes, correspondence, and project milestones.
• Monitor outstanding defects or remedial works and confirm they are completed to the required quality standard.
• Assist with the administration of SEAI grant and incentive processes, ensuring compliance with programme requirements.
• Maintain accurate records for all assigned projects, including customer details, contractor information, and site documentation.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and customer expectations are consistently met.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting documentation as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and service delivery.
• Stay informed of developments in the retrofit and energy efficiency sector to ensure best practice is maintained.

Quality, Compliance & Health & Safety

• Follow the organisation's Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
• Complete all required quality and compliance documentation, including corrective action records where necessary.
• Promote safe working practices by identifying and reporting hazards or potential risks.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with company policies, industry regulations, and relevant legislation.
• Adhere to company driving procedures, complete vehicle safety checks, and comply with all applicable road traffic regulations.

• Carry out attic insulation works in accordance with company procedures and industry best practice.
• Install insulation materials to roofs, lofts, and floors to improve the energy efficiency of residential properties.
• Prepare work areas before installation, ensuring all surfaces and access points are suitable for the work being undertaken.
• Install attic access flooring and storage platforms where required.
• Ensure adequate ventilation is maintained within roof spaces and fit ventilation products as specified.
• Protect and insulate pipework, water storage tanks, ducting, and other services located in attic areas.
• Complete floor insulation works, including carefully removing and replacing floorboards where necessary.
• Use hand and power tools safely and correctly to complete installations to a high standard.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy throughout each project and dispose of waste materials appropriately.
• Record completed work, including photographs and installation details, in line with company procedures.
• Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Provide a professional and courteous service when working in customers' homes, respecting their property at all times.
• Comply with all health and safety requirements, company policies, and quality standards.

Given the nature of the business, deliveries may vary from day to day, this can range from multidrop runs to long haul Country runs with single deliveries. Drivers usually start between the hours of 07:00 – 08:00 and finish between 15:30 – 17:00 however as any driver knows this may be earlier or later on busy days or long distance timed deliveries. As such successful drivers will need to have a degree of flexibility around start & finish times. Starting location will be at the depot 15KM outside Cavan town.

• Produce detailed structural steel models using Tekla Structures software.
• Generate fabrication drawings, GA drawings, assembly drawings, and material lists.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and workshop personnel to ensure design accuracy.
• Review project specifications and construction drawings.
• Coordinate detailing activities to meet project deadlines.
• Identify and resolve design clashes and constructability issues.
• Assist with project documentation and revision control.
• Support continuous improvement of detailing processes and standards.
