Empire Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established builders providers for an experienced Counter Sales Representative. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and customer-focused branch supplying trade professionals and the general public with a comprehensive range of building materials, plumbing supplies and hardware products. While plumbing products form a significant part of the business, the successful candidate will be dealing with the full range of construction and DIY materials.
• Assist customers with product selection and technical advice.
• Deliver excellent customer service to trade and retail customers.
• Process sales accurately using the company's EPOS system.
• Prepare quotations and follow up on customer enquiries.
• Build strong relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to increase sales.
• Maintain an organised, well-stocked and presentable trade counter.
• Liaise with warehouse staff regarding stock availability and customer orders.
• Receive deliveries and assist with stock control where required.
• Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure efficient branch operations.
Previous experience in counter sales within a builders providers, plumbing merchants or hardware retailer,
OR
• A semi-completed trade apprenticeship (Plumber, Carpenter, Electrician, Builder or similar) combined with previous retail or customer-facing experience.
Applicants should also possess:
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good knowledge of plumbing products and general building materials.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good computer literacy.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Full driving licence desirable but not essential.
