CNC Machine Operator

• Set up and operate CNC machines according to engineering drawings and specifications
• Translate technical drawings and blueprints into machine instructions
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and accuracy
• Inspect finished components to ensure they meet required tolerances and standards
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance
• Maintain accurate records of production and machine activity
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment and finished products
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols within the workshop
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and engineering staff

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC machinery
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (e.g. calipers, micrometres, gauges)
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control
• Sound knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Basic computer literacy, particularly with software related to CNC operations
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and handle materials as required
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to production changes

Desirable (but not essential)

• Apprenticeship or relevant qualification in mechanical engineering or machining
• Experience with different types of CNC machines (e.g. milling, turning, grinding)
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
